War Scenes - Unsystematic Scheme EP
I just had a new cassette being put in my mailbox today. Actually, I waited longer for this release than others to arrive at my address, because I was soo stupid as not using my new address. So I just thought... fuck it! .. If I wanted to hear it, then it would be on my Bandcamp collection. And heck, it arrived anyway!. Luckily I knew that it kicked ass, after hearing it on my Bandcamp.
Well, we're ONLY talking about a project which has spawned this one release by a fellow named Philipp Läufer. Then who is he, this Philipp Läufer?!... Well... if you do know about the Berlin based label called Black Verb Records, then this guy is the boss of it. And besides that, then he is ALSO working on projects like Aftermath 6 6 6 6, Bleib Modern and Ivy's Void. And about War Scenes? I´m coming 2 it!
10 minutes is all we get. 2 tracks being in the noisy field of power-electronics inspired industrial acts like Genocide Organ and Ex.Order. And 2 tracks linking it up with the likes of rhythmic brutalizes Esplendor Geometrico and the technoid monotony of Ancient Methods.
And thee questions is, is that good? .. Is it unique, special and "modern" whatever? ... And the answer is yes! ...
It's not often that I hear it, but on rare occasions, it´s nice to hear how new projects are linking the old school kind of sound with a new, fresh and modern attitude. When I'm saying this, then u should know ( as the one who reads this ) that I have been through the so-called genre/ mixture of industrial and techno music called power noise. And I have to be honest with you, it BORED ME! ... THIS DOSN´T! .. The sounds are right, the cold techno edge is there, mechanical atmosphere and all that ... It´s there! ..
You, being a fan of Genocide Organ, Esplendor Geometrico, Ancient Methods or Diamond Version... GO GET IT!!!!
