The Knights Of Gob - S/T

Apparently Grol the Goblin isn´t the only loose goblin in town spreading mischief and mayhem. The Knights of Gob being one of the latest in so-called snot-faced goblin-synth. Some like it, while some don´t. Well... Whoever said that Mortiis was the only goblin? He looks more like a goblin/elf hybrid, or maybe one of the hag-like creatures from Ridley Scott´s splendid fantasy flick Legend. Well, one thing is for sure... The Knights of Gob being all about defending their kind from golden haired knights and would-be heroes!. Well, let us take a closer look at what this is all about!

While Grol the Goblin being closer to traditional dungeon synth, Knights of Gob works around various styles and sounds. Grim and ugly primal eerie stuff on Sir Jerf and the Dragon, brilliant use of keyboards and sounds here!  You´ll encounter the electro-punk retro-sound in Too Many Potions... if you had too many Hobgoblin beers to this one it might end up sounding like Depeche Mode´s ´Photographic´from their first album Speak and Spell. VERY naive material here, BUT with LOTS OF BALLS! The Harp of The Green lady brings along a beautiful melancholic piece, and yes!... It is in fact quite beautiful and catchy. The Quest of The Shinies being some sort of goblin-crash into melodic synth-wave, a fast and hectic dramatic ride on a Goblins favorite stead (Boar?).

The ride on boars ends abruptly with the menacing and scary The Worf Riders, reviving classic John Carpenter atmospheres here! After the encounter with the Worf Riders (could it be bloodthirsty orcs?), we meet the sadness and tears with the dear goblins... with the haunting melodies of The Tomb Of A Thousand Goblins (Really nice!). The War Of Gnomish Aggression... Need to say more?. Doom´ish thumpings, evocative flute-tune, angry tribal beatings, sinister organ, martial aggression yes. Really really good!. Next track I Dub Thee... REALLY pumps in all the right ingredients for a good and melodic synth-wave/retro-wave track. Last track is just, good (JUST HEAR IT OK?!)

And that is just that!. Everything here is working and everything is good. The sounds and cool, melodies are cool, the atmosphere is cool. End of story!
