Cyber City Oedo 808

Continuing my anime revisiting and still on the cyberpunk genre, Cyber City Oedo 808 was probably the first of the kind I layed my eyes on (along with Venus Wars, which I´ll review soon).

Dated from 1990, and from the mind of Yoshiaki Kawajiri, also responsible for another classic, Ninja Scroll, CCO is a work of art.
It circles around 3 characters who are cyber criminals and have been given a chance to redeem and maybe gain freedom by joining the cyber police.

It´s only 3 episodes and each focus on one of the 3 characters. Each episode is meticulously detailed, artwork wise. I can´t say it enough, old anime was the best. The work that has been put into this, without computer graphics, CGI, everything handmade. Absolutely amazing.

There´s only one thing wrong with it: it´s only 3 episodes. I searched online to check if there were more but only 3 were ever made and it´s such a shame. I always thought that CCO would make for a great series and that way gain a cult status and come out of the shadow of obscurity.

In conclusion, you should get a hold of this asap. Thrilling, epic, action-packed and brilliant!
