Wicked City


Cool anime from 1987. Sweet animation but the story falls a bit dull.

Kinda hentaish horror, it tells the story of Renzaburō Taki, who is a Black Guard, a group of people who are responsible for maintaining peace among human and demon world. Taki is assigned to protect Giuseppi Mayart, a two-hundred-year-old Italian mystic who is a signatory for a ratified treaty between the Human World and the Black World in Tokyo, and a major target for the Radicals. Taki is also informed that he will be working with a partner, a Black Guard from the Black World, the very beautiful Makie.


The whole plot is basically Taki fighting off a couple of demon radicals in order to save Makie, whom in the meantime fell in love with and to protect Giuseppi.

As I said, the animation is awesome, I´m a sucker for old school anime. It has a few steamy (ie bewwwwwbs) but it doesn´t get half as porny as Legend of the Overfiend. It doesn´t get as terrifying either and that´s what´s wrong with it.

As a one part movie, it fails a bit but originally, this was the first of a six-volume story so I was hoping there would be a sequel or something, it would definitely work much better.
