Tell~Doll - Wake Up and Walking ..

Ukraine based act which has its first release back in 2016, with the obscure name Tell~Doll with the mysterious title ´Wake Up and Walking ..´ A free downloadable digital release on Archive.org. Any information about the act is non-existent. The only piece of info I can find is this text, which is from the Archive site.

´My Time~Machine was broken but I had met another Time~Traveler .. That is a Tell~Doll and she´s here .. to spin ~~spell~time! That´s what she told ..´

Pretty weird eh? ... So what kind of sounds and noises do a Timelord create? Doesn't actually sound like the Tardis, or time traveling Daleks for that matter. Maybee, there´s a minor relevance to the classic Doctor Who episode called "The Edge of Destruction". Plot description borrowed from Wikipedia.

´The Doctor, while attempting to correct the TARDIS's faulty navigation circuits, causes a small explosion. The Doctor, Barbara, Ian, and Susan are all temporarily rendered unconscious. After they awake, Ian and Susan appear to have slight cases of amnesia and everyone begins to act strangely. Unexpected events are happening in the TARDIS, the travelers are becoming suspicious of each other's motives, and the Doctor even accuses Ian and Barbara of sabotage. Fearing that they have been taken over by some alien force—or that they have intentionally sabotaged the TARDIS in order to force the Doctor to return them to 1963—he drugs Barbara and Ian unknowing that Ian is also suspicious and has not taken the drink given to him. The Doctor attempts to explore the problem without interference.´

As you can imagine, being a time-traveler is a messy affair (or can be). Paranoia, sabotage, and drugs all around. I don´t know if it is the same case with Tell~Doll but, I can say that it´s a pretty low-tech (almost 8-bit) rendered and gritty slightly psychedelic avant-garde harsh noise treat, a single track being almost 10 minutes long. Be warned... side-effects (could be) extreme paranoia, sabotage of time-machines, and drug-abuse!

Weird samples of radio recordings. At times it sounds like traditional Ukraine folk music, or is it just a Ukraine radio commercial? The noise which sounds like a distorted digital vacuum cleaner cleans out your ear and mind. And that´s it. A 10-minute long mind-and-ear eraser. Doesn't sound like your typical harsh-noise piece, it´s a fresh and low-tech treat. If someone told me, that it was made back in the early 80s (I would believe it!). That kind of low-tech, give it a stream or two if you're into that kind of old-school noise. Be sure to check out the official site, it´s quite incredible and unique piece of website programming!
